Painters Greenhouse, 734 Roy Moore Rd, Old Fort, NC 28762, USA

John Murphy, joining us after leading programs at Bullington Gardens for 23 years, brings a wide breadth of knowledge and experience with shrubs and trees.  John will cover different styles of pruning based on the needs of the plant (e.g. a hard shear vs. selective pruning for both ideal health and appearance), as well as highlight the most common shrubs and trees that do best pruned in early spring.  He will demonstrate ideal pruning methods for several common shrubs and trees such as Annabelle Hydrangeas, using plants in our landscape and/or in nursery pots.  Come ready to learn and take notes/photos so that you can feel more confident with your pruning practices - early March is the ideal time to prune for many shrubs and trees!

The class will be held outside by our new gardens, and if weather is poor we will move inside to the lower greenhouse.
